The Skokiaan Brass Band, brings the explosive energy of New Orleans brass bands, spiced up with funk, soul, jazz, Caribbean, and African vibes.
Their journey to New Orleans in 2015 was a game-changer, leading to the release of We Need Music! (2018) and The French Touch (2020), produced by Kirk Joseph, a Dirty Dozen Brass Band legend. A 2022 tour in Togo added a bold splash of African colors to their sound. Their latest album, Skoki Mama (2024), produced by Grammy-winner Scott Billington and recorded across France, the U.S., Benin, and Ghana, showcases star guests like John Boutté, Kevin Louis, Lisa Caldognetto, Cynthia Abraham, and Harmony’s Brass Band.
In 2026, they hit the road for the Skoki Mama Tour, with Lisa Caldognetto joining the adventure. On stage, this modern brass band unleashes an infectious energy that turns every gig into a vibrant, unforgettable party.
"This is a very exciting album with influences from New Orleans and several African Nations, all with a French attitude and a very high level of musicianship. It’s an undeniable and powerful statement that is always danceable and immensely enjoyable. Skoki Mama shows many new possibilities for the brass band format. It is a fresh sound, and I am proud to be a part of what the band has accomplished."
